In 1995 a couple and team were sent out to Nepal from the Winnipeg Center Vineyard. The leading couple were Nepalse/India people who had spent 6 months in Canada. As they began to work among the forgotten people, the river people, the prostitudes, the street kids, the marginalized in that Hindu society they found the Kingdom of God at work. Deliverence, healings and signs of the Kingdom marked their everyday world.
10 years later the founding church the Kathmandu vineyard has trained and released new pastors, planters and leaders across parts of Nepal and Northeast India. There are now 12 vineyard churches wiht over 2500 new believes between tham and a small army of another 700 christians to disciples them. Most of the pastors are first generation christians coming out of centuries of Hinduism. We have established with the team there a moblie bible school to help train these leaders.
We try to support the work there by sending teams, sending trainers, helping with resources and supporting street children. Go to their website for more information on the work in the Himalayas
